From Fractured To Focused
The Male Blueprint for Stronger Relationships
A practical guide for men who were handed silence when they needed guidance. Seventeen chapters, one four-stage Blueprint, and exercises you do in a notebook, not just read.
May this book be the conversation nobody had with you. May it be the mirror you were afraid to look into.
From the dedication.
The Blueprint
Four stages, in order. You cannot heal what you will not own. You cannot connect honestly while unhealed pain runs your reactions. And you cannot lead others well until you have learned to lead yourself. It is not a ladder you climb once. It is a cycle you run again whenever life changes.
Part I: Own
Stop pointing outward. Look at your patterns, the stories you tell yourself, what you eat to avoid what you feel, the habits quietly building your life, and how you handle it when you fall short.
- 1The Hard Truth: You're the Common Denominator
- 2Facing the Mirror: Why Self-Honesty Is a Man's First Discipline
- 3The Food Relationship: When Comfort Becomes the Enemy
- 4Why the Little Things Build the Big Wins: The Power of Tiny Habits
- 5Accountability: A Man's Shield, Not His Shame
Part II: Heal
Some of what drives you was handed to you before you were old enough to understand it. You cannot own your way out of a wound. This part is about what is underneath, and who will be there when you deal with it.
- 6Healing Old Wounds: You Can't Build on Cracked Foundations
- 7The Myth of Perfect Support Systems
Part III: Connect
Bring the work to the people who matter most: how you talk, what you protect, how you love, how you father, and how you keep it all from drifting apart.
- 8Honest Conversations: Saying the Hard Things With Care
- 9Boundaries vs. Barriers: How to Protect Without Pushing Away
- 10Partnership: Building the Last One
- 11Fatherhood: The Father You Had and the Father You're Becoming
- 12Relationship Maintenance: Preventative Care for Connection
Part IV: Lead
Where all of it meets the outside world: how you carry yourself at work, how you handle power, when to stay, when to go, and how you keep growing once life stops handing you obvious lessons.
- 13Work Is a Two-Way Contract: Trust Is the Currency
- 14Managing Up, Down and Sideways: How Real Leaders Navigate Power
- 15When It's Time to Walk Away: Resetting With Strength
- 16Life Happens: Adapting as You Grow
- 17Your Next Chapter: Continuing the Journey
Built To Be Used
The Essay
The idea, laid out plainly, with research named where research exists so you can check it yourself.
Where This Breaks Down
When the advice does not apply. No idea works everywhere, and you deserve to know the limits.
My Story
How Keith has lived it himself, including where he got it wrong.
The Exercise
The chapter turned into action, often with the exact words to use.
Read it in order the first time. Get a notebook. The men who get the most from it write in it, argue with it and try things.
